TEAM NUMBER TWELVE -- DIVISION FIVE
Home night: Tuesday.

Chris Parmar-Saville (n/p capt).

Dylan Parmar-Saville.

Ella Parmar-Saville.

Maya Dehnan.

Manish Kotecha.

v Abbots Road V -- drew 5-5.

Maya 2, Ella 2, Dylan 1.  Maya/Ella 0

Hard fought draw having lost 7-3 against the same opposition last time.  This time both Maya and Ella came close to securing all three with Maya just losing out to Pat Evans 15-13 in the fifth while Ella lost to Ketan Patel 11-9 in the fifth.

The two girls could not quite win the doubles for full points but this keeps the team above Abbots Road in the chart.

Not least of all Maya secured the first Player 0f the Match award for the team.

v Electricity VI -- won 6-4

Dylan 2, Maya 2, Ella 1.  Dylan/Maya 1.

First legitimate win (the other being a default against the same team).  Excellent team effort as Dave Silvester won three for Electricity.

Dylan won both his in three games while both Maya and Ella fought hard to defeat Amit Rai in five.  A very good doubles win for Dylan and Maya.

v Desford Village IV -- lost 4-6

Dylan 2, Ella 1, Maya 1.  Ella/Maya 0

What a good try this was and it was all in the first three sets when experience probably told as all three of the KP youngsters lost their first set of the night in five games, Maya going down 11-13 to Lee Berrill.

Ella, who lost to Gemma Hargrave first up, got some revenge by beating Lee in three later.

Meanwhile Dyan did even better after losing to Gillian Wisdish in five -- that in itself a good performance -- as he went on to beat the other two.

Alas, Ella and Maya could not quite win the doubles which would have been a deserved share of the points.

A bonus point gained in a 6-4 defeat to Syston 4 in the final league game of their first season in the Adult league.

Dylan did well to win 2, recovering after a heavy opening loss to Scott, he subsequently held his nerve in 5 gamers against Tony and Nick.

Ella picked up a straight sets win over Tony. But went down in 3 to Nick and 4 to Scott.

Maya couldn't pick up a win but gave the highest rated Scott his closest matchup losing in 5 after being 2 games up.

Ella and Dylan won the doubles over Nick and Tony in 4. Their first doubles win together in the league!

Hope is that this bonus point could lift the team above Abbots Road 5 and avoid last spot. THhs is depending on Abbots final result against Winstanley.

Over the season Maya led the way in the averages with 38% with Dylan and Ella in the 20s.

Overall an enjoyable first season!

Chris

The KP 12 team were without a third player unfortunately against Winstanley's 3 juniors. Ella played really well to beat the older Kelsey in five tight games, some excellent rallies there. Against Dan, who is high in the averages , Ella played some excellent attacking shots without fear and had good leads two of the three games but eventually Dan prevailed straight games. Her level then dropped against Marcus in the final game for a 4 game loss. Maya managed to take a game off Dan and then played her very best game against Marcus to win in straight games, some excellent forehands dominating the play. Again Kelsey's match went to 5 games against Maya, who had her chances , but this time Kelsey prevailed. Ella and Maya lost to the brother and sister in straight games in the doubles. Overall an 8-2 defeat.

v Regent Sports -- lost 1-9

Ella, Dylan, Maya all 0.  Doubles given

Experienced opponents with no set going to five.

Needless concession of the doubles by opponents.

v Desford Village IV -- drew 5-5

Dylan 2, Ella 2, Maya 1.  Dylan/Ella 0.

A creditable draw against a mid-table Desford side for Knighton Park 12. It was Gillian with a maximum who mainly stopped KP from winning.

Both Dylan and Ella won two singles and were very close to gaining maximums and only stopped by Gillian who won all three of her singles in five. And a further note about Ella - when she wins she seems to win three sets to love. Maya was not quite at her best and managed one win .

The doubles was lost in four and therefore a chance for a second win of the season was missed.

Chris.

v Knighton Park XI -- lost 3-7

Maya 2, Ella 1, Dylan 0.

A good local derby with KP11 victorious as per league position.

Excellent wins for Ella and Maya over higher rated Aga and also for Maya over Phil. Ella winning in straight games. Maya now regularly winning 2 singles an evening.

Dylan went closest against John who gained a maximum and the doubles with Phil.
